My Other Marvel Project

I’ve seen the info floating around in solicits, so I’m going to assume it’s safe for me to talk about it.

In addition to The Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series due out in August, I’m writing back-up stories for World War Hulks: Wolverine vs. Captain America #1 and #2, which ought to come out in June and July, respectively.

Interesting note: I’m the first webcomic-er to do a full mini-series for the Big Two, and now the first to get a gig that takes place in mainstream continuity. I prefer to be out of continuity, because then you get to do crazy things like have Spider-Man and Dr. Doom team up to fight space pirates, but sometimes you gotta make Ocean’s 12 to make Good Night and Good Luck.

Looking at that paragraph, the last ten years have been a very strange and exciting ride. Especially since I never intended to do work for Marvel. Or to make comics. Like, at all. Funny how things turn out. Thank you.

P.S. none of this interrupts progress on the 8-bit epilogue. In fact, to give you an idea of how much it won’t be interrupted, I finished the Hulk stuff before typing up this blog post. Still not sure when it’ll go live. Might wait for the whole thing to be finished so it can be posted in one mega update. Guess we’ll see!

Four thangs

1. I would love to update Warbot in Accounting, but that stupid Zack Finfrock does the art and right now he’s obsessed with some other gig. Make him feel bad about it, why not.

2. How I Killed Your Master will return! But that stupid Matt Speroni does the art and right now he’s toiling at another project for me like the fool that he is. We’ll share it with you soon! It’ll be worth the hiatus, trust me.

3. Finished writing the 8BT epilogue yesterday! It’s gonna take a while to put together though. Maybe a couple weeks? There’s a lot to it.

4. So, stop sending me emails! It’ll be done when it’s done and it’s gettin’ done.

Fun fact

I found out “armoire” is not in Open Office’s dictionary. Go and check. I’ll wait.

See?

Yup. It’s not important. Just one of those things you notice. Y’know. When you’re writing.

Hum de dum dum.

Forum again plus stickers!

We got the old forums up and running at a new URL. Your username, passwords, all that jazz, it’s there like nothing happened thanks to the magic of…uh, a database. Which, now that I type it out, is like saying a spreadsheet is a mystical font of knowledge. Big thanks to all the admins for stepping up in a time of crisis and TCB. That’s Takin’ Care of Biznazz to the uninitiated.

Okay, lemme answer a lot of email right here: Yes, that was the end of 8-bit Theater. There might be an epilogue at some unscheduled time in the future. I’m not sure what some of you are looking for in more pages, but I can just about promise you won’t find it in anything I have to add.

And, just to make sure you RSS kids stay hip to the news that got edited into the previous, uh, news (note to self: learn to write) there’s two new Robo-themed shirts and three stickers! Get ’em while they’re hot.

And a space trucker.

So, one of my Marvel projects is The Avengers and the Infinity Gauntlet. I’m pretty goddamned excited!
