Product Synergy

If you’re in the Boston area this weekend, you should visit the Boston Comic Con. Many fine comic book professionals will be there, among them Atomic Robo‘s very own Scott Wegener (they don’t check credentials I guess). He will sell you comics, T-shirts, and sketches. Drop by and prove to him that 8-bit readers aren’t the ugly jerks he thinks they are.

I added the above paragraph so this post wouldn’t be 100% self-serving. Though technically Scott’s success also impacts my success, so actually this post is now 110% self-serving.

Oh well!

Switching gears: I’m just going to put these out there.

I think you know what to do. But in case you don’t, what you should do is BUY THEM.

Will it work?

If everything works the way it ought to, you’ll see a new page of 8-bit Theater at 12:15am EST. It appears the server (or WordPress itself) is set an hour behind real time. Good to know. Looks like it’ll update at 1am then.

Hey, look at that, it worked!

Stay tuned as I, uh, tune the site throughout the day.

New site, same as the old site. But different.

Well. Here we are. In the future!

Navigation is pretty self-explanatory, just poke around and see what happens. RSS is available down at the very bottom, but I can put that somewhere more obvious if need be. I’ll be up to some heavy duty tinkering in the next couple of weeks. So, if you happen to catch the site with its pants down, please don’t point and laugh, it’s just off its meds and honestly how’d you like it if I laughed every time you left the house without any clothes?

Buncha jerks.

Perhaps you noticed Warbot in Accounting, our new addition to the Nuklearpower.com family. It’s written by me and drawn by Zack “My Last Name Is Ridiculous” Finfrock. Neither one of us has any idea what we’re doing with it, but expect a new installment every week or two. At least until the internet cries out for us to stop.

8BT will continue on its regular Tue/Thurs/Sat schedule of course. At least until it reaches its idiotic conclusion.

I gave Atomic Robo his own archive too. Right now it’s just got our 2008 Free Comic Book Day story, but Scott and I keep tossing around the idea of doing some free Robo comics, maybe a Sparrow spin-off or something, so hopefully we can make that happen later this year.

Take note that any time new content is added, be it blog post or comic of any kind, it’ll be displayed in that handy list on the lower right. And over there on the left we’ve got a couple search options. The first searches comic titles, blog titles, and blog posts while the second will be a comprehensive search of every script of every comic on this site. We’re still working on that though.

If you’ve got any questions about the new site, or suggestions for other features, or something intelligent to say about it — hey, call me an optimist! — you know where to find me. Personally, I think this searing yellow text might be a bit much. Maybe an off-white instead? And now I miss the yellow. Hrm. Gonna have to try out some other options later.

Testing yet again.

It’s just as well that I never got into the Champions Beta because if I had gotten in, then I wouldn’t be at liberty to tell you about the progress it’s made in just a matter of weeks.

Because I would like to tell you that, but I can’t, and even if I could, I wouldn’t be allowed to. So, I didn’t.

Got it?

Good.

In other news, I’ve been playing around with the admin stuff for the new nuklearpower.com. It’s all very slick and cool. I’m not sure when it’ll go live, but I expect it to be some point in the next seven days. It will feature all the 8-bit Theater you love to hate as well as a the first installment of a new series, Warbot in Accounting. I will be straight up honest with you: I have no idea what kind of comic Warbot is or if it will find an audience. It’s sort of a comedy without punchlines? HAY JUST LIKE 8-BIT LOLOLOL!

And yes, there will be RSS, so shaddup already.

This is my first post

If it doesn’t work, I will send a kill crew after Tyler. That’ll larn ‘im.
